Policy Regarding Posting Commissions of Characters
Perhaps there should be a rule against posting images of characters you don't own if that character has an owner within the community.
This might seem overcomplicated, but considering this is a social network, it can be quite confusing when an image featuring a well-known fursona/character is used by someone that doesn't own them as a profile picture. It also could make it very uncomfortable for those people to joint the site. Not to mention, the artist making the image certainly has no idea about the repost.
As in: Shabow the Hedgehog posting a picture of Hobbes from Calvin & Hobbes to use as a profile picture is fine. Shabow the Hedgehog posting a commissioned image of Shabow the Hedgehog is fine. BUT, Shabow the Hedgehog posting a commissioned image of Blarney the Red Sparkledeer because they identify it WOULD NOT be fine.
Possible exception: if your character also features in the original image, it's fine.
This rule is rolling out next week. Please standby.
