Website - Save audio preferences to account, not Cookies
Sound preferences should be saved to the user profile on the server not to cookies in the browser.
People who do not save cookies over different sessions cannot save their sound preferences.
People who use different browsers cannot save their sound preferences.
This seems like a huge oversight.
At least disable notifications by default.
Don't forget this is a fetish site so many people are 1) browsing incognito AND 2) don't want their speakers to ding every time they log on
Any good dev knows that websites that play audio / video by default are LITERALLY INTERNET CANCER anyway.
I'm submitting this as a BUG report because the feature does not work and causes a major annoyance with your sites. Ya'll get enough money now to fix stupid issues like this.
Grommr Wed Designers,
When I visit grommr my browser is set to incognito mode because I want to make sure that grommr doesn't appear when I use my browser during presentations. Browsers in incognito mode do not store cookies so some of the preferences I set on this site are lost every time I close out of the browser. Most notably I cannot set the sound notification preference to mute and have it save. Perhaps the Notification noise preference could be tied to the user's account rather than rely on browser cookies?
There is another related problem I would like to bring to attention. If I have multiple tabs of grommr open and then I change the notification setting to mute the other tabs do not change this setting until the page refreshes. In the end I cannot unmute my laptop volume without hearing a bunch of chimes. Also if more than one tab is open when I get a notification I get a chime for every tab that is open. Thats a lot of chimes! Facebook and other sites have figured out how to consolidate notification noises in multiple tabs, perhaps something similar could be achieved on grommr.
I know you guys work hard to make the site user friendly, and I appriciate it. I just wanted to give some useful feedback because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has these problems.
