Filtering newsfeed based on content type
I'd love to be able to go to the global or personal newsfeed and click and option or select a post and make it so that kind of content type doesn't show up in your feed.
So if let's say someone posts a video and you don't want to see videos (not everyone loves 80's nights) then you can filter them out and only see the real posts
This is different from having your own newsfeed vs the global feed because if the people you're following get caught up in a video frenzy then it'll show up in your newsfeed too.
It's absurd to prevent people from asking for money for a fetish that leaves a big dent in your wallet. You don't like people requesting funds, don't fund them!
I personally find the models/sex workers using this site as an advertisement platform to be irritating.
While I have no problem with the actual business on a moral or ethical level.
I firmly believe in an ad free premium experience.
Further more the majority of the models do not actually contribute to the community. Mostly adverts and more adverts thinly veiled as not adverts in order to avoid violating the 25% rule.
The way to handle this in my opinion is to allow models to use the site as civilians. No advertising no linking their sites. AND/OR purchase for $20 a month a MODEL profile. This allows models to advertise 20 advertisements a week. approx $0.25 an advert.
Then, and here is the kicker.
You allow feabie XL members to hide posts from MODEL accounts.
This drives people like myself to purchase feabie XL and also generates revenue from model accounts. This extra money could be used for server costs and future features.
There simply is no reason this should continue to be a free marketing platform. it brings no benefit to Grokio to continue to allow the advertisements. They bring no profit to grokio and could in worst case scenario result in Grokio getting named as an accomplice in a criminal matter. Or on the wrong end of a lawsuit.
The ladies who have done the referrals should be compensated for their referrals in some way. Maybe trade in credit on a MODEL account? If Grokio is going to be allowing the models to advertise they should at least make it profitable for them in order to offset the people who will not pay for XL to read adverts.
there are so many girls and a few guys that are truthfully only on here to seek help to pay for things . and for us guys who're just trying to chat...its annoying to always be asked...pay for this. They got a wish list and everything.
My suggestion is for those who are on this site to raise money...can you put a $$ sign on their profile so we know that they're on this site looking for funding.
Me and dsdude56 thought of this
I personally have a paypal link and occasionally someone I'm just chatted to has wanted to help me out like a sponsor for a sports player as gaining can be expensive. For me there isn't necessarily a sexual component to someone giving me funds as I may not even know if I have been give any. I don't think it should be punished or frowned upon to provide a means for someone else to finacially support a gainer's gain. Would you not allow a sponsor for a competitive eater?
Hide posts that I don't want to see from my newsfeed.
The option to hide weight losses from appearing on the newsfeed.
For people who aren't trying to gain or people who are trying to lose weight for health reasons but want to keep their profile up to date without a public announcement
Some ppl like giving money. Just let it be and move on and be an adult. Adults like weird shit.
Specific forum where people can *ONLY* post about feeding each other, asking for food, grocery money, sharing amazon wishlists etc. Some people don't have feeder/feedee and online is all they have!
We should be able to flag posts that are spam and clearly made to make people sign up to websites, mainly cam sites
What about to throw away all the professional BBWs from this site? They are only doing advertisements and waiting for potentional clients. They only ask for money
By this argument, even Playboy would be considered prostitution.
However, I agree it's lame and should be curtailed. At the very least it should be frowned upon as a community. People should not feel comfortable asking for money. If you want money for your gaining, set up a porno site and sell memberships / donations. Xtube enables this. We should not, as a community, have to be dragged through the muck.
I bet more than half the guys seeking donations for gaining are just milking people for money and don't use it for gaining anyway. There's only so much money you can spend on gaining anyway. At some point you're going to end up with an overage that gets spent on other stuff.
Also, anyone who actually needs donations to gain is either too young to be engaging in such an enterprise, or has more important problems and shouldn't be spending so much time on Grommr.
All in all it's totally ripe for abuse and anti-community.
I would go a step further and say it should be against the community rules to ever solicit at all. Even in private messaging. Even then, there's no protecting the people that ultimately take their interactions with each other outside grommr. But at least if we educated members about what is right or not it might help.
An encourager might delight in buying food for a gainer to have the feeling that he is responsible for that gainer's gains. But I find that very creepy unless the two involved are already intimate friends. Regardless, PayPal is a horrible way to manage this. So unless the encourager is the one to initiate it "hey, I'd like to send you some food, are you open to that"... or until there's a FoodPal or a way to integrate credits and accounting into Grommr itself and link it up with Amazon or something, I say outlaw it.
Mobile/immobile can be implmeented as a new "iidentify as" option like "immobile fat" or "too fat to walk". Other offers of this suggestions are not related to the site at all....
i hope this is meant as a joke ( a bad one)
A few users are posting continuous and annoying posts asking people to cam on skype. Those that post these requests often ONLY post these requests, and do not seek to engage with the community in any meaningful way. I ask that Chasabl start viewing this as unpleasant spam and remove the users responsible
AND removes it from the Global Newsfeed. This would reduce the clutter there and focus cam requests directly for the people interested in it. This could allow people to use their own method of video chat without the problems the current iteration has and also take that service load off your servers if it becomes a popular feature.
We all know how people love to spam the newsfeed with offers for skype.... it pisses most off because well its annoying.
Can we please get status filters such as "Cam?" "Skype?" and "Bored?" placed to these filters? I automatically filter every post made by someone who does that in the same way someone filters out by Gainer/Encourager identity, so how about it?
whether you live alone
If this is really a dating and connection tool, they should include those, as those are things that people look for as much as age, race and height.
Could you make a way to collapse comments that are considered spam in the newsfeed? I am just asking because it is annoying to see "Skype, Skype?", "I am so horny right now anyone want to cam?", "I want to see who can push the belly out very much", "Who wants to be my hog", "Fatsalve for c2c" ect... I dont want to block them, just collapse their content.
I've seen a few members on this site have a link to their paypal account in their profile. They ask members to donate to their paypal account so that they can buy more food to grow faster. Because this is sexual in nature, it really is nothing than a loose form of prostitution and should not be allowed to be advertised within someone's profile or solicited through status either.
There are profiles I'd rather not see or hear from, not because they did anything wrong but because I just don't want to see them. Block seems so harsh because if that person ever wanted to make contact they shouldn't be told they've been blocked. An "ignore" would simply be an invisible way to filter out the profiles you just don't care to hear about or are spammy. Then block could be retained for being for serious offenses.
